It was four o’clock in the afternoon. Everyone was doing last minute preparations for the event that would be held that night. Naruto was spending his day searching for Sakura, who was nowhere to be found. “Where could she be?” He wondered. Naruto was walking down the marketplace hoping he would run into her. He soon got tired of searching and sat down a bench. Suddenly behind him appeared Sai. “Hi Naruto-kun,” He said. “Hey Sai. Sai, have you seen Sakura-chan anywhere?” Naruto asked. Sai sat down. “No. Are you looking for her?” he asked. Naruto drooped down low in the bench. “Yeah, but it’s not that important anyway.” He said. “Naruto-kun, can I ask you something?” Sai asked. Naruto sat back up. “Yeah,” he answered. “Well I was wondering how do you ask a girl out; the right way.” Sai said. Naruto stared down at the ground. “I’m not sure if I’m the right person to answer that.” He told him. There was a brief moment of silence. Sai got up from the bench. “Well Naruto-kun I’ll see you later; I have to go do something.” Naruto looked up at Sai. “Okay; I have to go find Sakura-chan anyway.” Sai looked over his shoulder; his eyes widened. “Oh-no,” he said. Sai started running without saying another word. Naruto looked the way that Sai had and saw Ino. “You come back here and ask me out, the right way!” Ino said chasing after Sai. Naruto stared as they both disappeared into the crowd. “You would have thought she would have gotten some help by now…”

Sakura sat on a wooden bench in the park under a cherry blossom tree. She sat there trying to pass time; trying to think, but that seemed impossible. What was troubling the poor girl so bad that she couldn’t think straight? Sakura just sat there watching the birds fly and cherry blossoms fall. She let out a low sigh. “Today’s the day…” She said to herself. She picked up a blossom that had fallen in her lap and put it in her hair. “Sakura!” a voice called. Sakura looked up and saw Ino running towards her. Sakura stood up. “Ino, what the-”  “Sakura have you seen Sai?” Ino asked out of breath. “No, why do you-” “Bye Billboard Brow!” Ino said running off. Sakura was offended. “For the last time; don’t call me that!” she yelled.

Sakura sat back down. She picked up her bag and rummaged though it. Out of her bag Sakura pulled the book she was reading. She opened the book and started reading where she had left off the night before.

Naruto sat on a bench in the park with his head hung low. No matter where he looked for some reason he couldn’t find Sakura anywhere. “Where could she be?”  “Why hello, Naruto.” A voice called. Naruto looked up and saw Shino standing in front of him. The very mysterious boy had his all too noticeable big coat and glasses on. “Shino; out of all the people who could have popped up.” “Uh…Hi Shino…What’s going on? Naruto asked. “Nothing out of the usual routine…I heard you are looking for Sakura.” Shino said. “Yeah, I am. Your point,” Naruto said slightly irritated. “Naruto you shouldn’t talk to a friend that way if you want to keep him.” Shino said. Naruto was getting uneasy. “I don’t want to be talking to you in the first place bug-freak!”  “My point is Naruto, is that I saw Sakura on the other side of the park.” Shino answered. Naruto hopped up and started running. “You know Naruto it’s polite to say goodbye before you leave.” Shino stated. “Okay then; See you later bug-freak!”

Sakura got up from the bench and closed her book. She put her book in her bag and swung her bag over her shoulder. Sakura to a glance at the sky, “Hmmm…It looks like it will be getting dark soon…” Sakura left the park; it was only a few hours before the festival started.

Naruto reached the other side of the park panting for air. He sat down on a wooden bench under a cherry blossom tree to catch his breath. “Where…the heck…could…Sakura-chan…be?” he asked himself. He got up and started walking on back to his home; discouraged and depressed as ever.

For what mysterious reason have Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno been kept apart? Could it be fate? Or could it just be lousy timing?

Sakura was fully dressed and ready to go. The only thing that was keeping her from leaving was…“Why won’t you stay!” Sakura sat in her room trying to put her hair in a bun but whenever she’d pin it up the sticks would fall. Knock, knock!  “Sakura dear, are you ready yet?” her mother called. “Not yet mom; give me five more minutes,” She replied. While she was trying to position the sticks in her hair something caught Sakura’s eye. On her dresser laid a crimson silk ribbon. “Heh-heh, heh-heh,” she snickered. Sakura picked up the ribbon and tied her hair into a messy ponytail with it. “I’m ready to go mom!”

Naruto was in his room digging though his closet trying to find formal clothes. “Come on, come on, where are they.” He said. As he searched he throw unwanted clothing on the floor, on his bed or anywhere he could for that matter. After he had thrown practically his whole wardrobe around his room and even research what he had gone through already, he found them. He found his bright orange and black kimono the one Sakura had given him herself for his birthday. Naruto put the kimono on and grabbed Sakura’s gift.  He then left to the long awaited fall festival.
Ugh part three...VERY, VERY short! >.<
